To Our Bar/Bat Mitzvah,
Welcome to the wonderful journey ahead of you! We hope you will find information in these pages that will be helpful to you as you prepare for your Bar/Bat Mitzvah. When you become a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, you become a Son or Daughter of the Commandment.
The most basic questions everyone faces in life is, "Why am I here? What is my purpose?" Religion does not give tidy answers to those questions, but it gives you a framework in which to explore. As Jews it is our responsibility, our mitzvah, to reflect God's presence in the world and to help bring significance to our lives.
Some people find meaning by attending services, studying Torah, giving Tzedakah, becoming socially involved, or by internalizing the special spiritual connection you are making at this time and carrying it through to your life as an adult, and passing that on to your own children down the road. We hope you, and your entire family, will savor both the learning experience and the spirituality that will emerge from your efforts.
We wish you a hearty "Mazel Tov!" as you prepare for your exciting journey, and your congregational family looks forward to the day you will lead us all in prayer.
