Poems & Bagels: A Reading and Discussion about Love, Loss, Parenthood and Faith
Sunday, October 29, 2023 • 14 Cheshvan 5784
9:15 AM - 10:30 AMLet Our Bodies Change the Subject, by Jared Harél, is a poetry collection that dives headlong into the strange, wondrous, sleep-deprived existence of being a parent, and raising Jewish children in twenty-first-century America. In clear, dynamic verse that disarms then strikes, Jared Harél investigates our days through the keyhole of domesticity, through personal lyrics and cultural reckonings.
Please join us for a poetry reading and book discussion with the author, followed by an informal Q&A. Books will be available for purchase, and bagels and coffee will be provided. PLEASE RSVP BELOW.

Motzei Shabbat, Jan 18th 7:00pm to 9:30pm
How about a movie starring Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Edward G. Robinson and the great Lionnel Barrymore, and directed by the legendary John Huston - you’ve got that all in “Key Largo”! It’s a love story, a mob picture, and an action drama all in one. This is perhaps the most satisfying of the movies Bacall and Bogart made together, done just a couple of years into their marriage. -
