Temple israel 2024-25 New Member commitment Form

The suggested Membership Commitment for current members is $3,100 (we would meet our budgeted expenses if every member contributed this amount).  New members are invited to choose an amount that they are comfortable paying in the first year.  Center for Jewish Learning school fees need to be paid at the time of enrollment.

A payment towards the Building Fund is required before the new member's anniversary date. The Building Fund commitment is $3,600 and the expectation is that this amount will be paid off by the time the family's oldest child becomes B'Mitzvah.  If the Building Fund is paid in full by the new member's first anniversary, the amount is discounted to $3000, otherwise a payment of $600 will be due.

This assessment allows us to maintain the safety of everyone in our building.  We continue to make investments that improve the congregation's safety and have engaged a security firm to manage our entrances during our busiest times and special events.

I/we wish to become a member of Temple Israel of Northern Westchester and ask that my/our name be presented for that purpose to the Board of Trustees.  I/we have read the Temple Israel Ethics Code and will seek to uphold the principles of Judaism as interpreted by the liberal philosophy of Temple Israel.

The Membership Commitment has been explained to me/us and I/we understand that there is also a Building Fund obligation of $3,600.  A minimum payment of $600 is due July 1 following the first year of membership, with 5 additional minimum payments of $600, each year thereafter.  However, if there is a Bar/Bat Mitzvah in the family, the full $3,600 is required to be paid before the event.

If payment is made in full before the first anniversary of membership, the amount of the Building Fund obligation is reduced to $3,000.

By checking the box I/We acknowledge the above.
